Nordic Skiing Takes Third Consecutive Top-Ten Finish at Dartmouth
Kaitlynn Miller placed third in Friday's freestyle race - a new school record

CRAFTSBURY, Vt. - The Bowdoin College nordic ski team placed ninth of 12 teams at the Dartmouth Carnival this weekend.

It is the third-straight top-ten finish for the Polar Bears, who racked up 201 points to finish just behind St. Lawrence (207) but ahead of Harvard (191), Colby (170) and St. Michael's (12). Bowdoin had not finished in the top-ten in three-straight EISA Carnivals since 2009.

Kaitlynn Miller continued her sensational campaign by recording the best-ever finish by a Bowdoin skiier in Friday's women's 5K classic. Miller took third-place in a time of 17:05.2, just 22 seconds off the winning pace. Hannah Wright carded an excellent race as well, finishing 28th in the event (18:27.0). James Crimp led the way in the men's 10K (32:15.2) by placing 24th overall. Jackson Block was the next-best finisher in 41st (33:30.8).

Saturday featured the first relay races of the season with the Bowdoin women's team of Shelby Aseltine, Hannah Wright and Kaitlynn Miller placed 15th in the women's 3x5K freestyle relay. Likewise, the men's team of Jackson Block, James Crimp and Kevin Hoose also took 15th in the men's 3x5K event.

The Polar Bears will return to action next weekend at the Middlebury Carnival (Feb. 15-16) before heading to the EISA Championship in Rumford the following week (Feb. 22-23).
