MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Bowdoin College nordic ski team placed 10th of 13 teams at the Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association Championship at Middlebury College this weekend. Spencer Eusden led the way for Bowdoin with a 13th-place finish in Sunday's 20K race. Eusden, who finished the 20k mass start in 1:01:57.9, posted the sixth-best finish in Bowdoin men's nordic skiing history.

Spencer Eusden led the squad with a 20th-place finish in Saturday's men's 10K freestyle. Eusden posted a time of 27:29.6, just over a minute off the winning pace.

BRUNSWICK, Maine - With his sights set on the 2010 Winter Olympics Games in Vancouver, Walt Shepard has taken the year off to focus on qualifying for a spot on the U.S. Olympic biathlon team. Shepard, of Yarmouth, Maine, has been skiing since he was a toddler, and says it has been a dream of his to compete in the Olympics. The biathlon a combination of cross-country skiing and riflery is an event he's trained for since high school.
