CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine - The Bowdoin College nordic ski team finished in 10th place at the Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association Championship at Sugarloaf Touring Center this weekend. The top finish of the weekend was by Walt Shepard, who earned a 22nd place finish in the men's 20K freestyle on Saturday.
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Bowdoin College nordic ski team placed ninth of 11 squads at the Middlebury Carnival last weekend. The Polar Bears will close out their campaign at the EISA Championships next weekend at Sugarloaf hosted by Colby College. Individually, Colman Hatton posted the top finish of the event, earning a 37th place finish in the men's 10K Classic race.
HANOVER, N.H. - Led by a 30th-place showing by first-year Spencer Eusden in the 15K, the Bowdoin nordic skiing team finished 10th of 13 colleges at the Dartmouth Carnival this weekend. Eusden is just the third Bowdoin men's first-year ever to earn NCAA qualifying points at an EISA Carnival.

The top men's finisher over the weekend was Colman Hatton, who took 32nd in the 10K freestyle, while Courtney Martin collected a 32nd for the women in the 10K classic race.

RUMFORD, Maine - The Bowdoin College nordic ski team opened their 2009 Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association schedule by placing ninth of 11 nordic teams at the Bates Carnival this weekend. Hosted at Black Mountain, Bowdoin was paced by a 44th place finish by Colman Hatton in the 10K Classic event.

Also known as the Maine State Championship, the Polar Bears were led by Colman Hatton and Courtney Martin. Bowdoin opens their 2009 carnival season on January 23-24 at the Bates Carnival in Rumford.
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin nordic skiing coach Nathan Alsobrook has announced the hiring of former Harvard skier Oliver Burruss as an assistant coach for the 2008-09 campaign. Burruss was the Crimson's top male skier for the past few seasons and a two-year captain.
