  • Shepard Wins Crowns at Biathlon Nationals

    BRUNSWICK, Maine - Sophomore Walt Shepard (Yarmouth, Maine), a member of the Bowdoin Nordic Ski Team, won three national titles at the North American Biathlon Championships in Coleraine, Minnesota last week. Competing against several of the top biathletes from the United States and Canada, Shepard hit 9 of 10 targets to place 2nd overall (1st American) in last Thursday's 10k sprint race.

    MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Paced by a fifth-place finish from Walt Shepard in the men's 10K freestyle, the Bowdoin College nordic ski team placed fifth overall in the event, closing out their EISA Season at the Middlebury Carnival on Sunday.
  • Nathan Alsobrook '97 Named Head Coach

    BRUNSWICK, Maine - Nathan Alsobrook, a 1997 graduate of Bowdoin College, has been named the new head coach of the Nordic Skiing program at his alma mater. Formerly the head coach of the Whitman (Wash.) College nordic ski program, Alsobrook began his collegiate coaching career as an assistant under Marty Hall at Bowdoin in 1999.
  • Marty Hall Resigns as Nordic Coach

    BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College Athletic Department has announced the resignation of Marty Hall as the Head Coach of the Nordic Skiing Program. Hall, a former coach of both the Canadian and American national teams, had been at Bowdoin since 2000. An immediate search for his replacement in underway.
