Kelley, Walker Qualify For NCAA Cross Country Championship

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College cross-country athletes Sarah Kelley and Nick Walker have qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship scheduled for this Saturday in Louisville, Ky.

Championship Information

The Polar Bears earned at-large bids to the meet thanks to their outstanding performances last weekend at the NCAA Regional Championship in Westfield, Mass. Kelley posted an eighth-place finish in the women's 6k race in a time of 21:36.52. It was the best finish for a Bowdoin woman at the New England regional since Anne Mojnar placed sixth at the 2008 championship. Walker finished in a time of 25:00.01 to take tenth overall in the men's 8k competition. It was best finish at New England D-III's for a Bowdoin male since Coby Horowitz took fourth at the 2013 championship.

Spalding University and the Louisville Sports Commission are hosting the championships November 19 at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky. The women's race will begin at 11 a.m. Eastern time followed by the men's race at Noon Eastern time.
