Coby Horowitz Named New England Athlete of the Year in Advance of NCAA's

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin men's cross country junior Coby Horowitz (Stow, Mass.) has been named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association Division III New England Athlete of the Year in awards announced on Wednesday.

Horowitz pulled out the New England Division III title in a tight three-way race to the finish with teammate Samuel Seekins and Middlebury's Jack Davies. The regional individual win helped his squad to finish second as a team and qualify for the NCAA Championship meet. Horowitz also claimed the NESCAC title this year and was sixth at the All-New England Championships. He also earned NESCAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for her efforts.

The Polar Bear men's cross country team will compete at the NCAA Division III Championship on Saturday at LaVern Gibson Course in Terre Haute, Ind. The 8K race is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. EST.
