Three Polar Bears Earn Bids to NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Three members of the Bowdoin College indoor track and field team have earned a trip to the Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship in qualifiers announced by the NCAA on Monday.

Coby Horowitz, Sam Seekins and Erin Silva will all be competing at the Championship, which begins Friday, March 8 at North Central College in Naperville, Ill.

Horowitz qualified in the mile run with a season-best time of 4:10.01, the second-best in Division III this year. Horowitz will compete on Friday in the prelims at 3:55 p.m. (CST) with hopes of advancing to Saturday's final at 1:30 p.m.

Seekins was the final qualifier in the 5000 meters with his time of 14:37.45 from earlier this year. The men's 5000 meters will be run at 3:20 p.m. (CST) Saturday.

Silva is seeded 11th nationally in the pole vault, where she carded a season-high of 3.71 meters to earn a trip to nationals. The women's pole vault will get underway on Friday at 11:00 a.m.
