Track Teams Close Season at ECAC's, Peterson Named to NCAA Field
NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Bowdoin College indoor track team closed out their season at the ECAC Championship last weekend, earning several strong results. The Polar Bear women claimed 14th overall while the men took 25th. In addition, long jumper Laura Peterson learned that she qualified for the NCAA Championship meet in selections announced Sunday night.

School Records, Qualifying Times at Indoor Track New England's
BOSTON, Mass. - A pair of school records fell as the Bowdoin College indoor track and field teams competed at the Open New England Championship this weekend at Boston University. Elsa Millett and Christine Head both bested their own program records while Millett and Thompson Ogilvie both reached NCAA provisional qualifying standards.

LEWISTON, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's indoor track and field team posted several strong performances to take a sixth-place finish overall at the New England Division III Championship at Bates College on Saturday. Kyle Hebert led the way for the team, collecting a pair of third-place showings.

Colman Hatton Breaks School Record at Valentine Invite
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Colman Hatton established a new school record in the men's 5000 meters and reached NCAA provisional qualification at the Valentine Invitational Saturday at Boston University. Hatton posted a time of 14:45.04 to break the eight year-old record formerly held by Patrick Vardaro '03 (14:46.24).

Men's Track Edged By Southern Maine For State Title
GORHAM, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's indoor track and field team was edged at the 2010 Maine State Indoor Track and Field Championship by the host University of Southern Maine on Saturday evening. The Polar Bears finished with a team score of 169.5, falling just short of the Huskies' total of 174.5. Kyle Hebert was named the winner of the Jim Wescott Award, given to the most outstanding track athlete at the championship meet.

Track Teams Host 2010 Bowdoin Invitational
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's and women's indoor track teams hosted a competitive field at the 2010 Bowdoin Invitational on Saturday at William Farley Field House. The MIT men and women placed first in both meets, while the host Polar Bears took runner-up in the women's field and third overall in the men's competition.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Bowdoin College women's indoor track and field team placed first overall at the Springfield College Invitational on Saturday. The Polar Bear women coasted to victory in the six-team field, while the men were edged by the host school and earned a second-place finish.

Polar Bear Track Teams Second at Brandeis Invitational
WALTHAM, Mass. - The Bowdoin College men's and women's indoor track and field teams both took silver at the Reggie Poyau Invitational hosted by Brandeis University on Saturday. The Polar Bear women took second of six teams behind the host Judges while the men's squad finished as runners-up to Southern Maine in a field of seven squads.

Indoor Track Teams Open Season at Southern Maine
GORHAM, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's and women's indoor track and field teams opened their 2009-10 campaign on Saturday at the University of Southern Maine. The women's team, behind a trio of first-place finishes by Laura Peterson, placed first overall while the men took second. The women's squad outscored USM 88.5-67.5. The men's team finished behind the Huskies by a score of 86-77.

Indoor Track and Field Teams Release 2009-10 Schedule
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's and women's indoor track and field teams have released their 2009-10 meet schedule. The defending Maine State Indoor Champions for both the men and women, the Polar Bears will play host to a pair of meets at Farley Field House this winter and will open their campaign on December 12 at Southern Maine.

Bowdoin Inducts Eighth Class into Athletic Hall of Honor
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College Athletic Hall of Honor welcomed its eighth group of inductees on Homecoming Saturday, October 17. The recipients span nearly five decades of excellence and encompass seven different Bowdoin athletic teams. This year's class includes Harold "Bud" White '39, Alex Schulten '66, Dick Donovan '73, Kirk Hutchinson '82 and Susan Leonard Toll '85.
