BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College men's tennis senior Sam King (Rye, N.Y.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

Despite a tough week of results for the Polar Bears, King was excellent, going 5-3 in combined singles and doubles play. After dropping the first set at No. 3 singles, he won a second-set tiebreaker and a third-set supertiebreaker to earn a point against Washington University-St. Louis. Earlier in the match, King teamed up with Kyle Wolstencroft (Greenwich, Conn.) for an 8-6 upset win at No. 1 doubles. King also went 2-0 against Pomona-Pitzer.

The Polar Bears (2-4) will look to return to the win column on Wednesday when they play NESCAC foe Trinity in Claremont, Calif.
