Doug Caplan and Kyle Wolstencroft won the A-flight doubles title at Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - Behind a stellar weekend from sophomore Kyle Wolstencroft, the Bowdoin College men's tennis team enjoyed an excellent start to its fall tournament season.

In a field that contained several Division I programs, Wolstencroft won the B-flight singles crown with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Chris Sosensteel of Stevens. He also teamed with doubles partner Doug Caplan to cruise to the A-flight doubles title with an 8-3 win over a Stevens duo. In another impressive performance, Bowdoin's first-year doubles combo of Charles Savage and Luke Trinika advanced to the finals of the B-flight bracket before falling.

Overall, Bowdoin players carded a 19-10 record in play this weekend. The Polar Bears will return to the court on September 28 at the ITA New England Regional hosted by Williams.
