Men's Tennis Cruises Past Colby For Ninth Consecutive Victory

Alex Jacobs teamed with Kent Winingham for a win in doubles play and also earned a point at #6 singles on Friday

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team cruised to its ninth consecutive win on Friday evening in an 8-1 decision over Colby.

The Polar Bears move to 11-5 (7-1 NESCAC) and are ranked ninth nationally in the latest Division III poll. Unranked Colby falls to 12-6 (3-4 NESCAC). Bowdoin will play host to third-ranked Williams on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

Bowdoin continued its recent astounding run in doubles play, winning all three doubles pairings for the ninth-straight match. Sam King/Oscar Pena, Kyle Wolstencroft/Doug Caplan and Alex Jacobs/Kent Winingham all earned wins at number one through three, respectively.

The Polar Bears took the top three singles matches as Chris Lord, Noah Bragg and Nicholas Fenichell each won straight-set affairs. Winingham and Jacobs took hard-fought wins at number five and number six singles play for Bowdoin.
