LEWISTON, Maine - Bowdoin first-year Kyle Wolstencroft won the B-Flight singles bracket as the Polar Bears closed out their fall tournament slate at the Wallach Invitational hosted by Bates College.
Wolstencroft was impressive en route to the title, knocking off second-seeded James Burke of Middlebury in the second round and winning four matches in all. In the final, he lost his only set of the entire tourney, dropping 4-6 in the opener before battling back for 4-6, 6-3, 11-9 win over Ilya Levin of Trinity.
Other strong showings included Chris Lord advancing to the semifinals of the A-Flight and Eric Chien reaching the semifinals of the C-Flight bracket. The doubles team of Alex Jacobs and Peter Davis won three matches to reach the final of the B-Flight doubles draw before falling to a Trinity duo, 8-5.
