WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Bowdoin College men's tennis team posted several solid performances as they continued their fall season at the ITA Regional Championships hosted by Williams College.
The Polar Bears were led by a pair of impressive runs by unseeded players in the singles bracket, as Chris Lord and Nicholas Fenichell both collected multiple victories. Lord advanced all the way to the quarterfinals with a trio of victories. He bounced his first two opponents with straight-set decisions and then eliminated the second-seeded player in the bracket, Alec Parower of Middlebury, in a 6-3, 1-6 (6) decision. Lord's run came to an end in his next match against Chris Dale of Amherst in a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 battle.
Fenichell earned two wins to reach the third round of the tournament while Oscar Pena reached the second round with an opening-day win. In doubles play, Pena teamed with Sam King as the number two seed in the bracket, and the duo won their first round match before falling in the second round to Sun and Micheli of Williams, 8-6.
