Williams won the 2013 Championship behind the strength of 10 first-place finishes to accumulate 1,936.5 points. The Ephs trailed Amherst (1,824.5) by eight points following the first day of the championships, but overtook the Jeffs on day two and never looked back. Amherst finished comfortably in second place for its third consecutive runner-up finish. Connecticut College (1,098) held off a late charge from Tufts (1,080) to hang on for third place, while the Jumbos finished safely in fourth.
The host Polar Bears, who finished sixth at last year's event hosted by Wesleyan, have gone 6-1 at dual meets this season and have defeated four NESCAC opponents head-to-head already this winter (Bates, Wesleyan, Trinity and Colby).
