Mecray Competes at NCAA Swimming Championships
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College sophomore Nathan Mecray, the NESCAC Champion in the 50 yard breaststroke, raced at the NCAA Division III Championships hosted at the University of Minnesota's Aquatic Center this week. Mecray competed in three preliminary events, but missed out on qualifying for the finals in each race.

Mecray and Routh Earn All-NESCAC Swimming Honors
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College sophomore swimmers Nathan Mecray (Cumberland, Maine) and Mac Routh (Alexandria, Va.) have earned All-New England Small College Athletic Conference recognition in conference awards released on Tuesday. All-League honors go to athletes who earn a top-three finish at the conference championship meet.

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Bowdoin College men's swimming and diving team shattered eight school records in a strong performance at the NESCAC Championship this weekend. The Polar Bears finished in ninth place overall. Nathan Mecray and Mac Routh led the way for the Polar Bears with several school records and NESCAC Championship winning performances.

Men's Swimming Set For NESCAC Meet at Williams
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Bowdoin College men's swimming and diving team will chase school records and conference titles at the NESCAC Championship meet hosted by Williams College this weekend. The three-day meet begins Friday, Feb. 26 at the Muir-Samuelson Pool in Williamstown, Mass., and concludes on the evening of Sunday, Feb. 28.

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College sophomore Nathan Mecray (Cumberland, Maine) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for his performance in the Polar Bears' victory over Colby last Saturday. Mecray won two individual events and assisted on a relay win as Bowdoin sunk the Mules.

Swim Teams Dominate Colby, Claim CBB Championship
WATERVILLE, Maine - The Bowdoin College swimming and diving teams dominated Colby in a dual-meet on Saturday afternoon, as both squads claimed their respective CBB Championships. The Polar Bear men cruised to a 175-111 victory while the women's team eased to a 171.5-128.5 win. Both teams conclude their dual-meet schedules with a 4-2 record.

Swim Teams Earn Split Against Wesleyan, Trinity
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Bowdoin College swimming and diving teams posted split results in a meet against Wesleyan and Trinity on Saturday. The Polar Bear women lost to the host Cardinals 168.00-131.00 but claimed a 200.00-89.00 decision over the Bantams. The men's team did the same, downing Trinity 169.50-126.50 but falling to Wesleyan 180.00-117.00.

Polar Bear Swim Teams Impressive Against Black Bears
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College swimming and diving teams hosted the University of Maine-Orono in a non-scoring meet on Saturday at Greason Pool. The Polar Bears boasted several individual and relay victories against their Division I neighbors in the competition, claiming wins in 19 of the 34 events.

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's and women's swimming and diving teams swept Bates in a home meet at Greason Pool on Saturday. The women edged the Bobcats by a 152-142 margin while the men cruised to a 179-115 victory. Both teams stand at 2-1 this season after the triumph.

Swim Teams Compete in Loaded Field at MIT Invitational
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Bowdoin College swimming and diving teams performed in a strong field at the MIT Invitational this weekend. The men placed fifth of seven teams while the women earned sixth of seven squads. First-year Katherine Foley led the women's squad with a pair of second-place finishes while Nathan Mecray collected a runner-up finish for the men.

Swim Teams Split Opening Meet With Babson and MIT
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College swim teams split their home-opening meet on Saturday at Leroy Greason pool, both defeating Babson but falling to MIT. The Polar Bear men sank the Beavers 185-99 and bowed to the Engineers 232-57. The Bowdoin women outscored Babson 215-75 and suffered a 203-96 setback to MIT.

Swimming and Diving Teams Unveil 2009-10 Meet Schedule
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's and women's swimming and diving teams have announced their 2009-10 meet schedule. The Polar Bears, who begin practice on November 1, will host three meets at Leroy Greason Pool this season, including the season-opening competition with Babson and MIT on Saturday, November 21.

Bowdoin Inducts Eighth Class into Athletic Hall of Honor
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College Athletic Hall of Honor welcomed its eighth group of inductees on Homecoming Saturday, October 17. The recipients span nearly five decades of excellence and encompass seven different Bowdoin athletic teams. This year's class includes Harold "Bud" White '39, Alex Schulten '66, Dick Donovan '73, Kirk Hutchinson '82 and Susan Leonard Toll '85.
