Men's Squash Falls to George Washington in Opening Round of Nationals

Will Winmill collected a 3-1 win at #7 for Bowdoin against GW

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Bowdoin College men's squash team couldn't rally late in an eventual 5-4 loss to George Washington in the opening round of the Summers Division of the CSA National Tournament Friday at Harvard.

The Polar Bears (9-11) drop into the consolation bracket where they will face Hamilton College at 12:00 p.m.

Bowdoin got great play from the bottom of the ladder, winning at the six through nine positions. Maxwell Bearse (3-0), William Winmill (3-1), Benjamin Bristol (3-0) and Cyrus Nassikas (3-0) to take a 4-3 lead heading into the final two matches. GW managed to pull out wins at the final remaining spots, however, to claim their second 5-4 win over Bowdoin this season.

The Polar Bears will look to match their January 26 result against Hamilton, when they took an 8-1 victory.
