Men's Squash Downs Amherst in Opening Round of Team Nationals

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - The Bowdoin College men's squash team advanced to the semifinals of the Summers Cup Division of the Team National Tournament with a 6-3 win over Amherst on Friday evening at Wesleyan University.

The Polar Bears (13-9) had split a pair of meetings against the Jeffs earlier this season. Bowdoin advances to play Middlebury in the semifinal round at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.

Bowdoin got contributions from all over the ladder en route to the win. Stephan Danyluk took a dominating 3-0 win at #2 while Andrew Ward (#7), Will Winmill (#8) and Alex Reisley (#9) also each earned sweeps to aid the Polar Bear cause. William Fantini (#3) took a 3-1 win and Reid Wilson (#5) earned a hard-fought 3-2 win to round out the Bowdoin victors.

The Polar Bears will get their fourth shot at the Panthers in Saturday's clash. Middlebury is 3-0 so far this year against Bowdoin.
