BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's soccer team will return to the NCAA Division III Tournament after a one-year absence as they battle Rutgers-Newark at Brandeis University on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the first round of the championship.
The winner will advance to play Sunday against the victor of Brandeis-Western Connecticut. Sunday's advancing team moves on to the Third Round of the NCAA Tournament on November 18 at a site to-be-determined. Complete regional info is below.

5:00 p.m. - Brandeis (13-4-1) vs. Western Connecticut (14-6-1)
7:30 p.m. - Bowdoin (10-4-3) vs. Rutgers-Newark (20-2-0)
Second Round - Sunday, Nov. 12
7:00 p.m. - Saturday's winners
Tickets are $6 for general admission and $3 for students/seniors. Children under the age of 12 are $2. Tickets will be sold at the field two hours prior to the first game each day. The Polar Bears return to the NCAA Tournament after missing out last fall...Bowdoin was one of five NESCAC teams to receive an at-large bid after falling in the conference semifinals to Middlebury in double-overtime, 1-0, last Saturday...Bowdoin's six-man senior class is the first in program history to qualify for three NCAA Tournaments in their careers, also earning trips in 2015 and '14...the Polar Bears had a league-high five players named All-NESCAC in honors announced on Thursday, including four members of their defensive corps...Bowdoin ranked second in the NESCAC and 17th in Division III with a 0.55 goals-against-average this season...First Team All-NESCAC goaltender Stevie Van Siclen stands first all-time in program history in shutouts (25), goals-against-average (0.57) and minutes played (5563).
BOWDOIN IN NCAA TOURNAMENT PLAY
Bowdoin is making its eighth NCAA Tournament appearance and third trip in the last four years…the Polar Bears are 4-5-3 all-time in championship play, winning on penalty kicks once in three tries (vs. Amherst, 2010)…Bowdoin has never faced Rutgers-Newark nor a NJAC (New Jersey Athletic Conference) team in their program history....the teams have one common opponent this year: Amherst. Bowdoin lost 1-0 to Mammoths while Rutgers-Newark fell 2-1 (OT)…Among potential second round opponents, Bowdoin has never played Western Connecticut but has faced Brandeis 12 times, going 2-9-1, including a second-round loss to the Judges (1-0) in the second round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament...Bowdoin's best-ever finish in the NCAA Tournament came in 2010 when the squad reached the national semifinals
