BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College has released the 2013 match schedule for the men's soccer team.
First-year head coach Scott Wiercinski and the Polar Bears will be the first Bowdoin team to compete this fall as they open at home on Tuesday, September 3 against the University of Southern Maine. A seven-game home slate includes battles against NESCAC foes Wesleyan (September 7), Middlebury (September 21), Hamilton (October 12), Williams (October 13) and Colby (October 26). Bowdoin will also play a non-conference home match against Babson (October 20).
The Polar Bears finished their 2012 campaign with a 8-5-2 record and fifth-place finish in the NESCAC standings. Formerly the head coach at the University of Chicago, Wiercinski was welcomed as Bowdoin's new head coach in March after Fran O'Leary accepted a position with Toronto FC of Major League Soccer. Bowdoin will be captained Ben Brewster and Zach Danssaert this season.
Game times are subject to change and plans for live coverage of home matches will be released later this summer.
Additional fall sports schedules will be announced later this week.
