Men's Soccer Extends Unbeaten Streak With Saturday Win at Colby

Eddie Jones scored less than nine minutes into Saturday's contest at Colby

WATERVILLE, Maine - Eddie Jones scored 8:45 into the game with what proved to be the game-winning goal as the Bowdoin College men's soccer team added a penalty kick later on in a 2-0 win over Colby College in NESCAC play Saturday.
The Polar Bears moved to 7-1-1 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play and have not lost in their last eight outings. Colby, which plays host to Wesleyan University on Sunday at 1:30 p.m., falls to 3-4-2 overall and 0-3-2 in the league.
Jones scored off a pass from the corner from Andrew Jones. The two teams combined for just 14 shots in the game and the contest stayed 1-0 in Bowdoin's favor to halftime. Eric Goitia converted a penalty kick 14 minutes into the second half to give the Polar Bears a two-goal margin.
Will Wise stopped just two shots in earning the shutout. The Polar Bears have allowed just one goal over the past eight games. Cody Funkhouser also had two saves for the Mules.
