NESCAC Names Fall All-Sportsmanship and All-Academic Teams

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The New England Small College Athletic Conference has announced its Fall 2009 All-Academic and All-Sportsmanship honorees. The Polar Bears were recognized with 52 All-Academic nods and eight student-athletes- one from each NESCAC-participating sport - were tabbed as All-Sportsmanship winners.

To receive Academic All-NESCAC status, a student-athlete must have reached junior academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution.

All-Sportsmanship recipients selected by the players and coaches from their respective team for their positive contributions to sportsmanship. The student-athlete selected must be in good academic standing and a member of the team at the conclusion of the season in order to be eligible for selection.

Of the hundreds of student-athletes eligible, Bowdoin cross-country runner Colman Hatton was one of just seven individuals to earn All-Conference, All-Academic and All-Sportsmanship honors from the conference this season.
