About the Program

Bowdoin's men's lacrosse team has a winning tradition like few others in Division III. The Polar Bears history of success includes an impressive resume; seven ECAC Division III championships and eleven-straight NESCAC Tournament appearances.

Stand-out players are frequently named All-NESCAC, All-New England and have received USILA (United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association) recognition. In 2006, the Polar Bears earned their first-ever First-Team All-American as Connor Fitzgerald claimed USILA and NESCAC Player of the Year honors.

And in 2008, the Polar Bears reached even greater heights as a team; qualifying for the NESCAC Championship game, earning their first-ever NCAA bid and picking up the program's first NCAA Tournament victory.

Bowdoin begins practice in mid-February with the regular season starting in March and running to early May. The Polar Bears have reached the NESCAC Postseason Tournament every season and advanced to the title game in 2001 and 2008. In addition, the Polar Bears are consistently ranked among the top teams in the nation in various national polls.
