WATERVILLE, Maine - The Colby College men's lacrosse team scored three goals in the final quarter to knock off Bowdoin 8-6 on Tuesday evening.

Colby moves to 6-7 overall and 2-6 in league play. Bowdoin, ranked fifth in New England, fell to 7-5 overall (5-4 NESCAC).

John Jennings had four goals and one assist to lead the Mules' offense while Tyler Will led the defense with six of his 13 saves in the fourth quarter. Ben Brewster led Bowdoin with three ground balls and as many caused turnovers. Connor O'Toole accounted for two of the team's six goals.

The Polar Bears held the Mules to one goal in each of the opening quarters, while scoring four of their own. Connor O'Toole netted a pair of goals in the first along with a shot by Tyler Williams with :40 remaining.  Jennings scored Colby's second goal of the game at 13:06, but Will Wise answered with one of his own less than a minute later. The Polar Bears carried a 4-2 lead into the half.

Colby quickly set the tone for the second half when Jennings scored on a tough angle just 1:46 into the third quarter. Jennings tied the game at 4-4 when he took a pass from Ian Deveau and ripped a shot with 6:41 left in the third. Bowdoin appeared to take Colby's momentum away when the Polar Bears won the face-off and Franklin Reis scored just 20 seconds later on hard run to the goal from the right side. Colby scored the tying goal just 2:11 later, sending the teams into the fourth quarter knotted up at 5-5.

Colby opened the fourth with a three goal run, which pushed the score to 8-5. Bowdoin scored the final goal of the game with 1:28 to play on a man-up score by Billy Bergner from Dan Hanley.

The Polar Bears host Endicott on April 20 with a 1:00 p.m. start.
