BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College senior midfielder Mark Flibotte (Cohasset, Mass.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week.
Flibotte was outstanding in three wins for the Polar Bears last week, as the team improved to 7-1 this spring and vaulted to 11th in the latest U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III poll.
The Cohasset High School graduate amassed 12 points in the three victories, scoring 11 goals and assisting on another. He had three goals, including the game-winner with seven minutes remaining, in a 9-8 win over nationally-ranked Springfield on Tuesday. Flibotte followed with four goals, three coming in the second half, in Saturday's 9-7 victory against Middlebury. He closed the week with four goals and an assist in a 9-6 decision over Williams.
Currently, Flibotte ranks fifth in the NESCAC at 2.38 goals/game this season. His 2.75 assists per contest are good enough for eighth in the league. Flibotte shared this week's conference honor with Hamilton goaltender Max Vaickus.
Bowdoin will return to action on Wednesday night when they travel to Lewiston to play Bates at 7:00 p.m.
