Men's Lacrosse Coach Tom McCabe To Steer Final Season in 2012
BRUNSWICK, Maine – Long-time head coach Tom McCabe has announced that the 2012 season will be his last at the helm of the Bowdoin men’s lacrosse program. McCabe, who has led the program since 1991, will step down following the completion of this season to join his wife Pat, an elementary physical education teacher in Brunswick, in the Peace Corps.

Egan and Smith Earn USILA Honorable Mention Honors
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College men's lacrosse players Owen Smith (Brunswick, Maine) and Matthew Egan (Newton, Mass.) have been recognized in honors announced by the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association earlier this week. Both players garnered Honorable Mention All-American nods while Smith was also tabbed as All-Scholastic.

Tufts Clips Bowdoin in NESCAC Semifinal Heartbreaker
MEDFORD, Mass. - In a crazy finish as thunderstorms loomed overhead, Tufts senior Ryan Molloy scored with 0.4 seconds remaining to give the Jumbos an 11-10 victory over Bowdoin in the semifinals of the NESCAC Men's Lacrosse Championship on Saturday. The seventh-seeded Polar Bears, who had defeated Tufts 15-9 to finish the regular season on April 29, likely finish their season at 8-7.

Men's Lacrosse Eyes First Conference Championship This Weekend
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The red-hot Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team will look to continue its run towards a NESCAC Championship when they travel to play at top-seeded Tufts in the NESCAC Semifinals this Saturday at noon. The winner of Saturday's game will play for the NESCAC Championship against the winner of Middlebury and Trinity on Sunday at noon.

AMHERST, Mass. - The seventh-seeded Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team used a 7-0 run in the second half to rally to a 14-9 victory over second-seeded Amherst in the NESCAC Quarterfinals on Sunday afternoon. The suddenly red-hot Polar Bears (8-6) have won a season-best five straight games while ninth-ranked Amherst falls to 13-2 and sees its 13-game winning streak come to an end.

Bowdoin Overwhelms #3 Tufts in Regular Season Finale
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team dealt third-ranked Tufts its first NESCAC loss in over a year, taking a 15-9 win in both team's regular season finale Friday evening at Ryan Field. The Polar Bears (7-6, 4-5 NESCAC) have won four straight entering the NESCAC Tournament that begins on Sunday. Seventh-seeded Bowdoin will travel to second-seeded Amherst for a quarterfinal game at 1:00 p.m.

Mehlhorn, McCampbell Help Polar Bears Earn Playoff Berth
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Bowdoin's Keegan Mehlhorn scored three goals and assisted on the game-winner to Nathan Fritts with 7:59 remaining as the Polar Bear men's lacrosse team won its third straight outing in an 8-7 victory at Williams Saturday. The Polar Bears rebound to 6-6 this season (3-5 NESCAC) and secure a berth in the NESCAC Tournament with the win. Jake McCampbell made 11 saves between the pipes for Bowdoin.

The Polar Bears snap a two-game losing skid and improve to 4-6 while the Gulls, fresh off a win over top-ranked Tufts earlier this week, drop to 10-3. Keegan Mehlhorn scored four goals and had a pair of assists to lead Bowdoin.

Late Springfield Goal Tips Bowdoin in Non-Conference Match
EXETER, N.H. - Jarrid Johnson scored the game-winning goal with 36 seconds remaining to lead the Springfield College men's lacrosse team to a 12-11 victory over Bowdoin on Wednesday evening at Exeter High School. The Pride (4-3) outscored the Polar Bears (2-4) 5-2 over the final 18:20 to rally for the victory, their first over Bowdoin since 2005, snapping a string of five-straight losses in the series.

The Bantams remain unbeaten this season at 3-0 (2-0 NESCAC) while the Polar Bears fall to 1-2 (0-1 NESCAC). Bowdoin received a pair of scores from Mark Flibotte with Russell Halliday and Patrick Lawlor pitching in a goal and an assist apiece.

Polar Bears Hammer 16th-Ranked Nazareth For First Win of Season
FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team routed 16th-ranked Nazareth, 21-5, for it's first win of the 2011 campaign Wednesday afternoon at Sacred Heart University. The Polar Bears improve to 1-1 this season while the Golden Flyers fall to 3-2 on the season. Bowdoin netted its highest goal total and largest margin of victory since 2008, when they defeated Norwich University 27-0.
