Holden Named Academic All-American by USILA
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Recent Bowdoin College graduate Bryan Holden (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) has been named an Academic All-American by the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. A captain for the Polar Bears this past spring, Holden also earned recognition as one of the top defenders in Division III, garnering All-NESCAC and All-New England honors.

Bowdoin Graduates Sworn in as Marine Corps Officers
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College alumni take many different career paths after graduation. Roommates Jack Dingess and Pack Janes will certainly pursue the road less traveled. Before over 100 family members, friends and former teammates, Dingess and Janes were sworn in as Marine Corps officers in a ceremony just hours after commencement on May 23.

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College men's lacrosse players Boomer Repko (New Canaan, Conn.) and Owen Smith (Brunswick, Maine) have earned Honorable Mention All-American honors courtesy of the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. It is the first USILA All-American honor for both players.

Repko, Holden Selected For USILA Senior All-Star Game
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Two Bowdoin College men's lacrosse players have been selected to play in the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's North/South Senior All-Star game this Friday in Cambridge, Mass. Seniors Boomer Repko (New Canaan, Conn.) and Bryan Holden (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) have been chosen and will be part of this weekend's collegiate lacrosse festivities in the greater Boston area.

BRUNSWICK, Maine - A trio of Bowdoin College men's lacrosse seniors have been recognized as All-New England performers by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. Midfielder Cullen Winkler (Milton, Mass.) and defender Boomer Repko (New Canaan, Conn.) were recognized as First Team choices, while long-stick midfielder Bryan Holden (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) was tabbed as a Second Team selection.

Bowdoin Falls Short in NESCAC Semifinal Against Tufts
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Tufts University men's lacrosse team held off Bowdoin, 10-8, to take a victory in the NESCAC semifinals on Saturday at Middlebury College. The Jumbos advance to Sunday's NESCAC title game while the Polar Bears will hold out hope for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament when selections are announced on Sunday night. Cullen Winkler led Bowdoin with four goals in the loss.

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College goaltender Jake McCampbell (Medfield, Mass.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week. The Polar Bear sophomore led his squad to a perfect 3-0 week, including a win in the NESCAC Quarterfinals on Sunday.

Polar Bears Bounce Trinity in NESCAC Quarterfinals
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin goaltender Jake McCampbell made 18 saves and held Trinity scoreless for a 34-minute stretch to lead the Polar Bear men's lacrosse team to an 11-8 victory over the Bantams in the quarterfinals of the NESCAC Tournament on Sunday. The second-seeded Polar Bears (10-5) advance to the semifinals for the third time in four seasons.

Harry Ashforth led the Polar Bears with two goals and three assists in the victory.

Polar Bears Back to Winning Ways With Triumph at Bates
LEWISTON, Maine - Bowdoin College bounced back from a four-game skid to defeat Bates College 15-7 in a NESCAC men's lacrosse game played in relentlessly driving rain Tuesday evening at Campus Avenue Field. The Polar Bears (8-5, 5-3 NESCAC) led 4-3 early in the second period before embarking on a 9-2 run over the middle half of the contest. Adam Tracy led Bowdoin with four goals and one assist, while Russell Halliday, Matt Legg and Steve Thomas added two goals apiece. Justin Starr scored once and dished out three assists.

Colby Stuns Bowdoin Men's Lacrosse in Overtime
WATERVILLE, Maine - The Colby College men's lacrosse team defeated 20th-ranked Bowdoin, 9-8, in overtime on Wednesday evening. The Mules improve to 7-5 (3-4 NESCAC) while the Polar Bears drop to 7-5 (4-3 NESCAC). Bowdoin has lost four straight overall with three of the setbacks coming by a single goal. Russ and Rob Halliday had two goals apiece for the Polar Bears in defeat.

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Williams College men's lacrosse team held Bowdoin scoreless for the first 28:10 of the game en route to a 10-7 victory on Saturday afternoon. In a rematch of last season's NESCAC title game, the Polar Bears fall to 7-4 (4-2 NESCAC) with their third-straight setback while Williams improves to 5-5 (4-3 NESCAC). Harry Ashforth had two goals, an assist and 11 groundballs in the loss.

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The 17th-ranked Endicott men's lacrosse team led by as many as five goals in the fourth quarter and held off a furious rally to defeat 12th-ranked Bowdoin, 10-9, on Wednesday evening at Ryan Field. The Gulls improve to 9-2 overall this year while the Polar Bears drop their second-straight one-goal decision and fall to 7-3. Cullen Winkler led Bowdoin with three goals while Bryan Holden had six groundballs.

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Middlebury's Mike Stone scored six goals as the seventh-ranked Panther lacrosse team survived a furious second-half rally from 13th-ranked Bowdoin on Saturday. The Panthers, who squandered a seven-goal lead and trailed with eight minutes remaining, improve to 7-1 (5-1 NESCAC) as Bowdoin (7-2, 4-1) falls in conference play for the first time this season. Cullen Winkler led Bowdoin with three goals on the day.

The Polar Bears have won five consecutive games and improve to 7-1 this season. The Pride fall to 3-4 overall. Cullen Winkler led Bowdoin with three goals on the night.

NEW LONDON, Conn.- Adam Tracy tallied three goals and two assists to lead the Bowdoin College men’s lacrosse team (6-1, 4-0) to a 12-6 NESCAC victory against Connecticut College (3-5, 0-4) on Freeman Field Saturday. Harry Ashforth, Owen Smith and Steve Thomas scored two goals each for the 13th ranked Polar Bears, who held a 46-to-30 advantage in shots en route to their fourth consecutive win.

The Polar Bears, ranked 13th in Division III, improve to 5-1 this season while the Owls drop to 2-2 overall. Bowdoin's 16 goals were a season high for the squad.

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College Athletic Hall of Honor will welcome its seventh class on Homecoming Saturday, October 15. The five distinguished individuals span an astounding eight decades of Polar Bear athletics and includes some of the most recognizable names in the history of the institution. This year's inductees include coach Jack Magee, Bill McWilliams '57, Robinson Moore '77, Chris Jerome '83 and Emily LeVan '95.

Phil Soule 5K "Phlail" Slated For Homecoming Sunday
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College will host the third annual Phil Soule 5K "Phlail" this Homecoming Sunday, October 19 beginning at Whittier Field. Registration is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. with the run/walk slated to begin at 11:00 a.m. A table will also be set up at Saturday's football game for anyone wishing to pre-register for Sunday's event.
