Western New England Edges Bowdoin in Nationally-Ranked Clash

DALLAS, Texas - The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team suffered their first loss of the season on Tuesday evening to Western New England, 11-9, at the Patriot Cup in Texas. The Polar Bears (2-1) are ranked 13th in the USILA Division III poll while the Golden Bears (2-1) stand 15th nationally.

WNEC opened up a 5-2 goals with a three-score run to end the first quarter. Bowdoin stormed back with four-straight goals to open the second quarter, taking the lead 6-5. But the Golden Bears rebounded with three scores in the final 2:20 of the half to take an 8-6 edge at intermission.

Rob Halliday had two goals while Adam Tracy and Mark Flibotte each had a score and an assist in the loss. Jake McCampbell made 12 saves between the pipes for the Polar Bears and grabbed five ground balls. Bryan Holden also had five ground balls for Bowdoin.
