In the summer of 2011, Maine native Jamie Dumont returned to the
Bowdoin Athletic Department as an assistant coach for the Polar
Bear men's ice hockey team. No stranger to the College, Dumont also
served as an assistant for the program from 2001-05.
Since helping lead the Polar Bears to 64 wins, a NESCAC
Championship game appearance and NCAA berth in his four seasons
under head coach Terry Meagher from 2001-05, Dumont has served in
several coaching capacities around the globe. His coaching resume
includes stops at Division I Bowling Green and the Portland Junior
Pirates, as well as internationally in Italy and the
Netherlands.
He was the head coach of the Bolzano Ice Hockey Club in Italy from
2007-09, where he led the team to the Italian Professional League
Championship and was a member of the Italian National Team coaching
staff.
Dumont is a native of Lewiston, Maine and graduated from Oswego
State University in 1998.
