MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Bowdoin men's golf team posted a strong team score in the opening round of the NESCAC Championship Qualifier and ended the weekend tied for sixth.
The Polar Bears sat in fifth place after day one, but added 13 strokes in round two causing them to drop out of contention. The team posted a 297 composite score in the opening round with just seven shots separating the first through fifth place teams.
- Thomas Dunleavy paced the Polar Bears by going 70-74 to finish in tie for fourth. The first-year was tied for second after day one sitting just one stroke behind the leader.
- Martin Bernard shot a 74 in the opening round and ended the weekend shooting 155 in the second best finish for a Polar Bear.
- Isaiah West was the only Bowdoin player to lower his score in round two by shooting a 76.
- The Polar Bears host the CBB Championship next weekend at Brunswick Golf Club.
