Men's Golf Finishes 16th at Williams Invitational This Weekend

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Bowdoin College men's golf team placed 16th at the highly-competitive Williams Invitational this weekend at Taconic Golf Club.

In a field that featured 24 squads, including eight NESCAC teams, the Polar Bears ended with a two-day team score of 647, finishing one shot behind 15th-place Babson.

First-year Thomas Spagnola led the way for Bowdoin with a two-day score of 160 (79-81) to take 48th place. Dustin Biron carded the best single round of the weekend for the Polar Bears by shooting a 77 on Sunday to end at 161 (84-77) and a tie for 56th. Matt Mathias (79-83-162 - T59th), Thomas Lilly (85-81-166 - T75th) and Bobby Kaminski (87-81-168 - T80th) rounded out the Bowdoin scorers.

The Polar Bears will return to action next weekend as they host the NESCAC Fall Qualifier at Brunswick Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday. More information about the tournament, including a preview, will be available later this week.
