Men's Golf Takes Fourth-Place Finish at Maine State Championship

BANGOR, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's golf team posted a fourth-place finish at the 2013 Maine Intercollegiate Championship Sunday at Bangor Municipal Golf Club.

The Polar Bears improved dramatically from their 10th place finish at the event one year ago, carding a two-day team total of 638 (+66) to finish just behind Maine-Presque Isle (636), second-place USM (617) and runaway winner Husson (595) in the 11-team field.

Bobby Kaminski took his second-straight 78 to end as Bowdoin's top weekend finisher in a tie for tenth place (156). Matt Mathias was the low Polar Bear on Sunday, carding a 77 to finish in a tie for 12th (157). Thomas Lilly (163, T-25th), Dusty Biron (166, T-28th) and Kevin Zmozynski (166, T-28th) also took top-30 finishes.

The Polar Bears will travel to Williamstown, Mass. next Saturday and Sunday for the Williams College Invitational at Taconic Golf Club.
