2016-17 Recap (12-11): The Polar Bears posted a roller-coaster campaign that saw them never win or lose more than three games in a row for the entire winter. Early struggles in NESCAC play, and some close losses in league games, put the Polar Bears behind the eight-ball down the stretch as the squad just missed out on the postseason.
2017-18 Preview: The good news is that the Polar Bears return a boatload of talent from their young squad of a year ago, including their top five scorers and three of their top four rebounders. The front-court duo of Jack Simonds (19.0 points, 4.9 rebounds) and Hugh O'Neil (10.0 points, 10.1 rebounds) both return for their junior campaigns while the sharpshooting trio of sophomore David Reynolds (9.1 points), junior Jack Bors (10.8) and senior Liam Farley (7.8 points) will look to light up the scoreboards from the outside this winter.
Bowdoin opens the season at the Westfield State Invitational against St. Lawrence on November 17 and will return home for consecutive games against in-state foe UNE (Nov. 21) and defending national champion Babson (Nov. 26). Other home games before break include St. Joseph's (Dec. 5), Bates (Dec. 7) and Maine-Farmington (Dec. 10.). The NESCAC schedule begins in earnest when the team returns to campus in January.
