BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin sophomore Jack Simonds (Falmouth, Maine) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Simonds was outstanding in a pair of Polar Bear wins. After scoring 12 points in a mid-week, non-conference win over Maine-Presque Isle, Simonds racked up 32 points, including 22 in the second half, in 33 minutes in a win over Williams. For the week, Simonds connected on 48.0 percent of his shots from the field, including 53.0 percent from 3-point range, while averaging 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists.

Simonds leads the NESCAC at 21.9 points per game this season, is second in three-pointers (38) and in free throws (58) and free throw percentage (86.6%).

Bowdoin (9-6) returns to action this weekend with a pair of big road games at Amherst (Friday, 7:00 p.m.) and at Trinity (Saturday, 3:00 p.m.).
