BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's basketball team shot 60.9% from the field in a 96-66 win over Maine-Presque Isle on Saturday afternoon at Morrell Gymnasium. The Polar Bears rebound from a pair of close losses to improve to 4-2 this season while the Owls fall to 2-3.

Three Bowdoin players saw double figures, led by Ryan O'Connell's 20 points. Will Hanley notched his fifth consecutive double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds while John Swords scored a career-high 13 points on 6-8 shooting with nine rebounds off the bench for the Polar Bears. Patrick Manifold led all players with 21 points for the Owls, while Kyle Corrigan (11) and Gerardo Vasquez (10) also reached double figures for Presque Isle.

Bowdoin carried a 43-33 edge into the break but the Owls were able to stay within striking distance thanks to hot outside shooting. Presque Isle nailed 12 three-pointers for the game but were out-rebounded 45-21, including 15-8 on the offensive glass. Bowdoin cashed in 21 second-chance points and out-scored the visitors 38-16 in the paint. The Polar Bears also got 47 points from the bench and slowly put the contest out of reach by posting a 53-33 advantage in the second period.

The Polar Bears will return to action on Monday night at Maine Maritime Academy in Castine at 7:00 p.m.
