Kyle Jackson Named Second-Team All-NESCAC
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College senior Kyle Jackson (Acton, Mass.) has been named Second-Team All-New England Small College Athletic Conference in selections announced today. Jackson was a tri-captain for the Polar Bears, who finished their season with a record of 17-9. Jackson was Bowdoin's second-leading scorer this year, posting an average of 10.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.

Polar Bears Fall to Middlebury in NESCAC Semifinals
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Middlebury will make its first appearance in the NESCAC Championship game after a 76-46 win over Bowdoin in a semifinal contest in Pepin Gym. WATERVILLE, Maine - Mark Phillips and Will Hanley combined for 22 points and 10 rebounds in the second half as the fifth-seeded Bowdoin College men’s basketball team pulled away for a 66-54 victory over fourth-seeded Colby College in a NESCAC quarterfinal game Saturday at Wadsworth Gymnasium. BRUNSWICK, Maine - Ticket information has been announced for the NESCAC Men's and Women's Basketball quarterfinal games scheduled for Saturday, February 21. Both games are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. with the top-seeded Bowdoin women (20-4) hosting eighth-seeded Williams (8-16) at Morrell Gymnasium. The fifth-seeded men's team (16-8) will travel to play at fourth-seeded Colby (17-7).

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin's Kyle Jackson scored a team-high 15 points, becoming the 19th player in program history to reach the 1,000 point plateau, as the men's basketball team held off Connecticut College on Senior Day at Morrell Gymnasium, 56-51. BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Bridgewater State College men’s basketball team won their tenth straight game as the Bears knocked off non-conference foe Bowdoin College, 68-56, Tuesday night in Bridgewater. The game marked the first meeting of the two teams since the first round of the 1999 NCAA Tournament when the Polar Bears defeated the Bears, 68-48. Bowdoin falls to 14-8 this season as Mark Phillips scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds in the loss.

The 16th ranked Panthers remain unbeaten in NESCAC play at 6-0, upping their school-record winning streak to 15 games. Construction Relocates Entrance To Morrell Gymnasium
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Due to construction on the New Campus Fitness Center, the entrance to Morrell Gymnasium has been relocated for use during the 2008-09 basketball season. The new entrance will be adjacent to the Smith Union loading dock at the southwest corner of the Morrell Gymnasium parking lot. A black awning will direct traffic into the facility.
