Michael Brown Hired as Assistant Coach
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College has announced the hiring of former Providence College standout Michael Brown as an assistant coach for the 2006-07 men's basketball team. Brown replaces Mark Gilbride, who accepted a position at Amherst College this summer.

Petrie Named State Player of the Year
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College senior Kyle Petrie (Iowa City, Iowa) has been named as the State Player of the Year by the Maine Basketball Coaches Association in postseason honors released on Monday. Petrie was also named as a First-Team All-State selection, while first-year Kyle Jackson (Acton, Mass.) was named to the state's All-Rookie squad.

Petrie Named First-Team All-NESCAC
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College senior forward Kyle Petrie (Iowa City, Iowa) has been named to the NESCAC's First-Team in a vote of conference coaches. A captain on this year's team, Petrie led Bowdoin in scoring and rebounding with 16.7 points per game average to go with 6.8 boards per contest.
