BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's and women's track
and field teams have announced their 2013-14 regular season
Both teams will open the season on December 7 as they host Southern Maine and St. Joseph’s at 1:00 PM.
Men’s Track and Field – 2013-14
The Polar Bears will have plenty of opportunities to compete on their home track this winter as the schedule includes home dates on Dec. 7, Jan. 11, Jan 18, Jan. 25, and Feb. 1. Over the course of their four opening meets Bowdoin will host USM, St. Joseph’s, RPI, Conn. College, Colby, MIT, WPI, Springfield, Tufts, and Coast Guard. On February 1, Farley Field House will be the site for the Men's State Meet. Bowdoin travels to Boston University for the Dave Hemery Invitational (Feb. 8) and Open New England’s (Feb. 28- Mar. 1). The Polar Bears will also attend the Tufts Invitational (Feb. 15) and the New England D-III’s at MIT (Feb. 22).
Women's Track and Field – 2013-14
On the women’s side, Bowdoin will also compete in the four home meets to kick off the 2013-14 campaign. The Polar Bears will race in Farley Field House on Dec. 7, Jan. 11, Jan. 18, and Jan. 25. Bowdoin then travels to Tufts for a pair of meets (Feb. 1 and Feb. 15) while going to Southern Maine for the Maine State Championship (Feb. 7). New England D-III’s will be hosted by Springfield (Feb. 21), and Open New England’s will take place at Boston University (Feb.28-Mar. 1).
Peter Slovenski enters his 28th season as head coach of the Polar Bears and 2012 All-American performers Katherine Harmon, Erin Silva, Coby Horowitz, and Jacob Ellis return to the roster. The Bowdoin women will be captained by Emily Clark, Samantha Copland and Katherine Harmon. The Bowdoin men will be captained by Coby Horowitz, Sam Seekins, and Greg Talpey.
