BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin junior Kara Finnerty (Hopkinton, Mass.) has been named a Third Team All-America by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association in honors announced Wednesday. 

Senior Elizabeth Bennewitz (Westport, Conn.) joins Finnerty as a First Team All-Region selection, while junior Emma Stevens (Darien, Conn.) received Second Team recognition.

The selection of Finnerty marks the 24th consecutive season that at least one Bowdoin player has been honored as an NFHCA Division III All-American. Finnerty repeats as a Third Team selection, earning the mark in her sophomore season as well. She ranked third in the league with 10 assists and second on the team in point with 28 while starting all 16 games.

Bennewitz earned her second consecutive First Team All-Region nod after breaking into the award as a Second Team selection her sophomore year. Bennewitz recorded three goals and a pair of assists while adding two defensive saves. The defender graduates with 13 career goals and 19 assists, as well as seven defensive saves. 

Stevens makes her first appearance on the All-Region team after a breakout junior campaign. The junior led the conference in goals (20) and points (44). She recorded five game-winning goals and three hat tricks. Stevens scored multiple goals in six different games during the season.
