Kennedy Scores Twice, Adds Assist, as Field Hockey Rolls Conn. College

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Bowdoin College field hockey team continued to roll, winning its ninth straight match in a 4-0 victory over Connecticut College.

The second-ranked Polar Bears improve to 11-1 (7-1 NESCAC) and have outscored their opponents 54-5 on the current win streak. The Camels fall to 3-8 (1-7 NESCAC) with the loss.

Rachel Kennedy scored a pair of goals in Saturday's win, both coming in a 7:50 span in the opening period. Kennedy put home her own rebound at 24:20 and then knocked home a loose ball at 32:10 to give the visitors a 2-0 advantage. Olivia King made it a three-goal differential at halftime as she and Kennedy broke in on a 2-on-1. King slammed home the feed from Kennedy to make it 3-0 at intermission.

Katie Riley added a second-half goal to round out the scoring for Bowdoin. Hannah Gartner made a pair of saves for Bowdoin, who held a 24-2 edge in shots and 14-1 lead in corners.

Bowdoin will return to action with its Senior Day game next Saturday, October 25 at home against Colby at 11:00 a.m.
