Bowdoin Field Hockey Ranked Fourth in NFHCA Division III Preseason Poll

Katie Riley will co-captain Bowdoin with Olivia King this fall

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College field hockey team has been ranked fourth in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III Preseason Poll released on Tuesday.

The Polar Bears are coming off a runner-up finish in the NESCAC and an NCAA Quarterfinal appearance last fall, when they posted a 16-4 overall record. They are one of three NESCAC teams ranked in the top-four in the season-opening rankings, with defending national champion Tufts taking the top spot and traditional rival Middlebury standing third.

Bowdoin, who received five first-place votes in the poll, has three NCAA Division III championships to its credit over the past six seasons and has advanced to the final four six times in the last eight years.

The Polar Bears will be captained by Olivia King and Katie Riley this autumn and open their regular season slate at home against Wesleyan on September 7.
