BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin junior Katie Riley (Hingham, Mass.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week.
Riley piled up 14 points to lead the Polar Bears to a perfect 3-0 week in NESCAC play. After exploding for four goals in a 6-1 win over Bates on Tuesday, the forward scored the winner and also added an assist in her team's 3-0 triumph at Colby on Saturday. She closed out the week with three assists in Bowdoin's 3-0 triumph over Williams on Sunday.
Currently, Riley's 24 points are second on the team to Brooke Phinney (26) as both players rank among the top-four in the NESCAC.
The Polar Bears return to action next weekend with a pair of road games at Hamilton and Amherst on Saturday and Sunday.
