Leonard Leads Field Hockey All-Americans
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Three players from the Bowdoin College field hockey team have been named to the 2006 NFHCA All-American team announced this week. Senior goaltender Kate Leonard (Eliot, Maine) earned her second-straight First-Team honor, while junior Valerie Young (Concord, N.H.) and sophomore Lindsay McNamara (Milton, Mass.) earned Third-Team selections.

Field Hockey Dominates NESCAC Honors
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Four Bowdoin College field hockey players have earned All-NESCAC honors in selections by the conference coaches announced on Wednesday. In addition, head coach Nicky Pearson has been named the NESCAC Coach of the Year for the fifth time in her career.

Bowdoin College junior defender Val Young (Concord, N.H.) and sophomore forward Lindsay McNamara (Milton, Mass.) were named NESCAC Co-Players of the Week as the Polar Bear field hockey team won their second-straight NESCAC Championship last weekend.

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College field hockey captain Burgess LePage (Cumberland, Maine) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week for her efforts last weekend in a pair of Polar Bear wins.

2006 Field Hockey Preview
The Polar Bears graduated several strong components, and with the tragic loss of Taryn King '07 in January, will be challenged as much mentally as physically. On the field, Bowdoin will return a boatload of talent in their attempt to defend their NESCAC Championship, including the majority of their defensive corps that allowed more than one goal just once in 2005.
