Ryan Mattison Joins Football Coaching Staff
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Ryan Mattison, a 2003 graduate of Boston
College and a member of the Eagles' coaching staff for the last
three seasons, has been named as an Assistant Football Coach at
Bowdoin. Mattison will assume coaching duties for the defensive
secondary, specifically the safeties, for the Polar Bears in
2010.
A veteran of the collegiate coaching ranks in New England,
Mattison was a walk-on for the Boston College football team during
his time at Chestnut Hill. A two-time Scout Team Player of the
Year, he earned a full athletic scholarship and two varsity letters
by the time he left.
His first coaching job came at Assumption College, where he spent
the 2004 season as secondary coach and academic liason. From there,
he was hired as a secondary coach at Holy Cross and spent two
seasons in Worcester before returning to Boston College.
At B.C., Mattison was hired as a graduate assistant for recruiting
and, after a year, was promoted to a graduate assistant for the
offense, where he assisted with coaching the offensive line and
tight ends.
Mattison has a Marketing degree and a master's in Administrative
Studies from Boston College.
