Kell Named NESCAC Co-Offensive Player of Week
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin quarterback Oliver Kell (Westford,
Mass.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic
Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week. Kell shattered several
program records in Saturday's setback to Wesleyan to earn his
second weekly honor of the season.
Kell broke the team's single-season records for passing yards and
touchdowns during the game, and established new single-game records
for completions, passing yards and total offense.
Against Wesleyan, Kell completed 35 passes for 472 yards with 513
yards of total offense, breaking the marks formerly held by Ricky
Leclerc (32, 395 and 403 set against Amherst in 2004). His first
touchdown pass of the game - to Pat Noone- broke the school mark
for touchdowns in a season formerly held by Hayes MacArthur (12).
Additionally, he broke his own single-season passing yards record
during the contest, set last season (1,785). Kell has thrown for
2,012 yards and 15 touchdowns this season with two games
remaining.
Bowdoin will return to action next Saturday at Bates College
(12:30 p.m.).
