White Earns ECAC Honor
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College senior defensive back Lamont White (Boston, Mass.) has been named a Northeast Football All-Star by the Eastern College Athletic Conference in post-season honors announced on Tuesday.

Three Polar Bears Earn All-NESCAC
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Three Bowdoin College football players were recognized as All-NESCAC performers in awards announced by the New England Small College Athletic Conference on Thursday. Polar Bear senior captain Rogan Donelly (Osprey, Fla.) and classmate Lamont White (Boston, Mass.) garnered First-Team honors, while sophomore Kevin Zikaras (Milford, Conn.) grabbed a Second-Team nod.

Kell Named NESCAC Player of Week
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin sophomore quarterback Oliver Kell (Westford, Mass.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Kell was outstanding in Saturday's victory over Colby as Bowdoin earned their second-straight C-B-B (Colby-Bates-Bowdoin) Championship.

Bitter rivals Bowdoin and Colby have both defeated Bates and currently stand at 1-0 in the CBB race. Saturday's game is the 119th meeting between the squads, which ranks as the third-longest rivalry in Division III football, only behind Williams-Amherst and Albion-Kalamazoo.

This weekend, the Bowdoin College football team will travel north on Route 196 to play Bates College in the second leg of the CBB Championship. The Polar Bears (1-6) are looking for their first victory since week one, while the Bobcats (0-6) are still looking for their first win of the 2007 season.

Football vs. Trinity Game Notes
The Bowdoin College football team (1-3) will travel to Hartford, Conn. this weekend to play the Trinity Bantams (3-1), who are coming off just their second loss in the past five seasons. The Bantams dropped to undefeated Tufts, 16-10, last weekend while the Polar Bears dropped their third-straight game in a loss to Hamilton, 23-17.

Bowdoin Hosts Second Annual 5K "Phlail"
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College is pleased to host the second-annual Phil Soule 5K "Phlail" this Sunday, October 13 at Whittier Field. In what is quickly becoming a Homecoming tradition, all levels of athletes are invited to participate in the 5K run/walk in honor of the long-time Bowdoin coach.

Saturday is the 102nd meeting between long-time rivals Bowdoin College and Tufts University. The Polar Bears enter this weekend with a record of 1-1 after splitting their first two games against Williams and Amherst. The Jumbos (2-0) enter the game as one of four unbeaten teams in the NESCAC, having beaten Hamilton and Bates by a combined score of 59-27.

Saturday marks the 86th meeting between historic rivals Amherst College and Bowdoin College. The game is the home-opener for the Jeffs (1-0), who opened last weekend with a shutout victory at Bates. The Polar Bears (1-0), who posted their first victory over Williams since 1979 in a 28-14 win last Saturday, have won three straight contests dating back to last season.

Bowdoin College will begin their 115th season of intercollegiate football with a season-opening clash against reigning NESCAC Champion Williams College at 1:00 p.m. at Whittier Field. The last time Bowdoin hosted a season-opener was in 2005, when Bowdoin defeated Middlebury College, 22-21.
