Rookie Sailors Impressive at Nickerson Trophy
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin’s first-year sailors put up an impressive performance at the Nickerson Trophy, NEISA’s annual freshman championship, last weekend at Boston University. The team finished 10th of 17, beating three nationally ranked programs in the process. The Polar Bears had trouble replicating their rookies’ success at the other two fall championships, faltering at both the Schell Trophy and Victorian Coffee Urn races.

Polar Bears 13th at Oberg, Qualify for Schell Trophy This Weekend
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Bowdoin College sailing team finished 13th overall and secured a spot in the NEISA fall championship with their performance at the Oberg Trophy race last weekend at MIT. The Polar Bears are ranked 15th in New England and will compete at the Schell Trophy this weekend on the Charles River.

15th-Ranked Sailors Place Third at Great Herring Pond
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin posted its third 3rd place finish at a two-day trophy event in a row last weekend at the Great Herring Pond Open at Mass Maritime. Sailing in puffy, shifty conditions in 420s, Alex Takata and Laura Heyl finished 5th in A division. The finish gave Bowdoin a further bump in the NEISA rankings.

Bowdoin Sailors Earn Dramatic Victory at Larchmont
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College sailing team enjoyed a stellar showing, pulling off a stunning victory at the the largest intercollegiate event in the country last weekend. The Polar Bears won the J/105 division at the Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta and also placed at two other events in their most successful haul yet this semester.

Bowdoin Sailors Gain Momentum With Solid Finishes
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin sailing team kept its momentum rolling last weekend with several good finishes. The Polar Bears finished third at the Hewitt Trophy at SailMaine in Portland on the shoulders of a division-winning performance by A team Alex Takata and Laura Heyl, supported by an all-freshman B division team of Alex Sutula, Zac Fox, and Isabel Low.

Sailing Opens Fall Season With Mixed Results
BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College sailing team took to the water for their first weekend of competition, September 12-13, facing several tough challenges in the opening week. Several Polar Bear boats were in the water in Maine and Massachusetts as the fall season got underway.
