BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin sophomore Brandon Lopez (Amesbury, Mass.) has been named First Team All-New England Small College Athletic Conference in baseball honors announced by the league on Wednesday.

Lopez excelled on the mound and at the plate this season, posting a 2.62 ERA with 26 strikeouts and a 4-1 record in 44.2 innings of work as a pitcher for the Polar Bears. At the dish, Lopez ranked second on the team in hitting (.333) and slugged .473. He recorded 31 hits with 15 RBIs and 15 runs.

Lopez is the first Bowdoin player to have at least four pitching wins and 30+ hits in a season since Ricky LeClerc '06 in 2006 (4 wins, 49 hits).

The Polar Bears ended their 2017 campaign with a record of 15-18.
